Once we have $100,000 in the Scholarship Fund, we will be able to award a scholarship to one Student Kiwanian from each of the five Sioux Falls High Schools.$2000 was given to be used for the Gardens at Lowell Elementary School.  The gardens are teaching gardens that in addition to providing food they are a place to teach math, science, and health skills.  The gardens also breed a sense of ownership in both students and parents.$2000 given provide occupational and speech therapy services to children with delays
in communication, social and play skills, daily living skills, fine motor skills and sensory needs.$2200 given to provide incentive and education programs to limited income pregnant women and their children. The Teddy Bear Den participants earn credits for healthy living and exchange them for necessary baby care items such as diapers, clothing and high chairs.$1000 given to provide moving assistance to individuals or families who financially can not afford to physically move to a better or safer living condition.$1000 provided to transitional housing for homeless families with children.$800 provided to create and distribute SIDS brochures.$2000 provided to support the McCrossan Evening Treatment Program.  The program is committed to the purpose of helping young men and women (ages of 10 to 18) achieve their potential within their academic, social, and home environments through structured educational activities united with the guidance of group and one-on-one therapeutic support.$2500 provided to provide group counseling services to children with an incarcerated family member. Children with a parent in prison are seven times more likely to be incarcerated themselves. Family Connection, through the Children$2000 provided to train 2 Children Advocates to promote and protect the best interests of abused and neglected children involved in court proceedings.$2000 provided to purchase new toys and an outdoor sun shelter at the Children
